Well, after a few sessions playing with Ruairi as my D&D Character (officially this time), his backstory is now about to develop in a new direction. Our latest game made him find his red string, returning his memories of Lysanna to his childhood.
However, things are not all solved actually, as an 'epilogue' is found here in this description:

"The search for his lost possesions brought Ruairi and his new party to the Witchlight Carnival and eventually, Prismeer, the heart of feywild itself. As they sought out the local Feylords (or their recent replacement rather), the party stumbled upon a settlement of Bullywugs, whose King held an audience with an Autumn Eladrin. She introduced herself as Aelfa, and sought a passage to Thither, another region of Prismeer. The court did not trust her as she did not possess a shadow, which is considered a sign of a broken promise among th Fey. Ruairi noticed she looked rather familiar, scavenging through his hazy memories, remembering he had a mother that was similar to her. Aelfa joined the party heading to Thither, but together landed in the realm of the Yarnspinner, a Feylord Storyteller. Ruairi felt an immediate push towards the heart of his realm, the Scriptorium, where his missing Red String was eventually found. He came to the realisation that Aelfa was in fact Lysanna this whole time. Why has she hidden this from him, and what were her reasons to distance herself from him is yet to be answered..."
