They say knowledge is power and a necessary tool for bettering one’s self; allowing for endless possibilities and opportunities! For Lilliana, this is very true as she can be knowledgeable about various topics; gaining most if not all of her information from the books she reads. While Lilliana enjoys reading stories and tales written by various people; she is also partial to reading informative material, especially when it’s on a topic she is interested in. Before the tragedy that befell her group and her subsequent release from the hands of the crusaders, Lilliana enjoyed reading books on medicine and various forms of natural medicinal methods such as using plants and fungi found in nature. One of the reasons for this was due to Lilliana having ambitions of becoming a medic of sorts to help her group, coinciding with the ideology that was taught to her at a young age. Ever since being taken under Celestine’s wing, Lilliana has since resumed her medicinal pursuit in order to help others in need. However, while Lilliana has spent a considerable amount of time reading and researching such topics; putting such knowledge into practice is an entirely different matter. This is not just true for her interests but in other areas as well. For example: one of the reasons Lilliana wasn’t able to achieve the rank of “true” cleric was due to her being unable to apply some of the knowledge she learned despite knowing much of the information asked of her. Ironically, it was her inability to put her knowledge into practice that saved her life; as she wasn’t a true cleric yet so the crusaders sought to “reform” her instead of killing her. Although Lilliana has a good deal of knowledge at her disposal, her struggles with application holds her back somewhat. However, with most things, Lilliana just requires practical application with her knowledge so all the information she has stored can go into helping others; and with Celestine’s guidance this ambition can become a reality in due time! *TRIVIA: An original idea for Lilliana was to make her part of an inquisition of sorts, hence her use of a weapon in her first reference. However, this idea was later scrapped to make her part of a more nonviolent which also played a part in both her personality and background.
