I had the urge to draw a cat. I love drawing their cute little faces and whiskers. I also love accentuating their slender limbs and gracefulness. I wanted to do something more japanese-themed. So I drew a white cat with sushi in a kimono! My first time drawing a kimono, mind you. I also tried some japanese characters (Cat Love Sushi). So I apologize if they are incorrect or off. The site I used for them seemed pretty trustworthy. I wanted to do two different colored eyes. I googled "white cat" so I could see exactly what color white cat's eyes are, and a picture popped up with a cat with two different colored eyes. So that's what I did! I think it added to her character. Of course, the scanner raped the light gray I used for the shading on the white, and it also clipped off her toe a bit.. oh well

Japanese Kanji and Chinese ideograms are -sometimes- the same, but at least 50% of the time the meaning has drifted through over 1500 years of separate development. Japanese and Chinese have the same roots, but split off from those roots and went in very different directions since then. Anyway, I translated the text through my Chinese dictionaries (I speak conversational Mandarin and can read/write a good bit of it too) to basically mean "cat love fish". Pronounced the above in Chinese is "mao- ai` yu'". If you ever want help with Chinese, let me know. =)
