A character I had recently made
underneath his BIO i shall state some extra character info (though it's always subject to change)
Name: Rowan the Revered
Occupation: Champion of Alluria [A-Lure-e-ah (like the word Allure) ]
Theatrical Performer
Alignment: Hero
BIO:
A hero skilled in swordplay and certain magic spells. Rowan had always dreamed of being a hero but didn’t think he’d ever get the opportunity to prove himself, as such he led a life of both Theatrics and studying. IN his spare time he’d study, not just usual lessons but sword fighting skills and an old book of magic spells thought to be useless junk by the person who let him have the book
Rowan practised as many of the spells in the book as possible…most of them didn’t seem to work…but one lucky day he actually performed one, a spell which would not only be one of his signature moves, the star shot. [it fires an almost toony-like star projectile…but this star is pretty powerful] Eventually performing this spell was almost like breathing, he used this spell sometimes in his theatrical performances.
One day he’d finally get the opportunity he had long ago dreamed of, a chance to try and become a hero…The Kingdom of Displecia {pronounced De-splee-see-ya] who were once at peace withAlluria suddenly began an attack on the kingdom and successfully kidnapped their Queen. Many royal guard ventured forth to try and save their queen…few returned and those who did looked worse for wares.
Rowan, who had now learnt a few more spells and a large portion of sword fighting skills, decided that he’d make an attempt (not entirely for proof of skill…because he just like his kingdom worry about the condition of their queen…and who her absence will affect the king) fashioning a unique outfit by utilising some of his theatrical outfits, a theatre mask and some various pieces of discarded guard Armor he suited up “borrowed” a sword from a sleeping guard and ventured to make an attempt to save their queen.
Eventually, thanks to his skills with swordplay and magic he bested the enemy forces and liberated their queen, upon returning home he was greeted by a large fanfare (something he only knew of if his theatrical performances were a hit) and was graciously thanked by both King and Queen. He queried the idea of being a royal guard…the Queen surprisingly said no which shocked everyone until the King spoke up “My boy, you are more than a guard…you’re a hero…we hereby dub you as our kingdom’s Champion!” a title that surprised Rowan. He was then given the name “Rowan the Revered” and officially became the hero and champion of Alluria.
He still studies sword fighting and more spells to further assist any future quests he may encounter, as well as donning a specially made blade for him, and a tweaked version of his outfit (still using Theatrical outfits but with his own armour instead of discarded armours.
Whilst Rowan can be somewhat flashy and flamboyant in his actions (Because of his theatrical work) his skills should not be underestimated. He has proficiency as well as presentation.
List of spells he currently knows:
- Star shot (Offensive: most used spell - fires star like projectile from fingers - not super strong, but not super weak. can fire many and doesn’t require much focus or stamina)
- Bubble Barrier (Defensive spell - five large bubbles spin around him and can block certain projectiles and blows - can be used as an attack but works best as defensive or if enemy is fire based)
- Wind blast - (movement/defense - makes a large blast of wind erupt form his palms or feet…short range, can launch him in the air [act as a double jump if need be] or pushe enemies/objects around…the blast itself lacks any hitting power and would require a launched object to do more harm…mostly used for evasion of to knock back foes)
- Fire Pillars - (Offensive - Requires a lot of stamina and focus, creates two small columns of fire which literally erupt to appear. Powerful but limited range and due to drain is not a move that should not be massively repeated)
- Phantom Blade - (offensive/defensive - can swish his finders around creating magical slashes…range similar to his own sword, requires a fraction more focus + stamina than star shot but can be used to attack [especially if separated from his sword] and block attacks. Not too taxing, but will only be as strong as his default blade)
- Breath suppression - (mobility/traversal/defensive - using magic he can negate how much he needs to breathe…but requires a fair amount of focus and stamina. Can be used to traverse underwater or toxic fumed areas without needed to breath…but it’s only a SUPPRESSION and he WILL eventually need to take a proper breath)
- Refresh - (Healing - [explained like a game mechanic] will restore some HP, requires a fair amount of magic power/focus and can be useful if needed)
- Smoke clouds - (defensive/evasion/performance - essentially summons a cloud of smoke, good for confusing/evading enemies AND for adding a flair to performances - the smoke itself does no damage)
Extra notes:
- He is ambidextrous
- under his headwear + mask he has a face like NiGHTS but with ears and hair (is hair is like 3 rows of small US/Cartoon sonic spike-mohawks)
- Still does theatrical work even though he is also the champion of his kingdom
