Timothy started this journey as the eldest of the group (late 20s). While he was a good trainer, he wasn't ever able to compete in the league because it always took him so long to be able to locate eight gyms.

Hearing of what Cyrus was planning, he decided that he'd make a name for himself by helping take him down. He's the youngest in his family, which is part of the reason why he feels he HAS to prove himself. All his life, even as an adult, he's been treated as a kid. Simply because he's the youngest of five siblings.

Obviously, Cyrus preyed on that and made him a literal child, which would make even more people see him as a child, which is his worst fear: Not being taken seriously.

As a morph, his personality is now sort of split - half of the time he acts as he always has, trying to act as an adult. The other half of the time his mind regresses him to what he tried to hide all his life - that deep down, he WAS a child.

Whenever there's a battle he always easily snaps to attention, but most of the rest of the group make him and Max sit out - which, until they start taking him seriously enough to let him combat, is the reason why he can't evolve.
