Name: Johnny Norman
Age: 24
Height: 5'6"
Species: Human, Parrot (Pendant)
DESCRIPTION:
Johnny Norman, alongside his childhood friend June Taiga, hailed from the humble but isolated town in Alaska. However, with no other children around at the time, he became so lonely that he decisively came along with June who often went on her own adventures around that town, inside and out. But in one very adventure involving in a highly-pressured silo (containing piles of increasingly stinking unsold fish), Johnny and June had a run-in with a local gang that had been monopolizing on Alaska-based fishing, which resulted in the said silo exploding, covering the whole town in unbearingly fatal odor. No one, not even June, anticipated such disaster that ended up suffocating nearly all of their fellow townsfolk (including the local gang) to death. Only Johnny and June, as well as her parents and several lone fishing away from the coast survived.
With Johnny traumatized with guilt over getting his own parents killed by accident, June's family decided to adopt him and move out to the very place where June's uncle had been staying and working in the mines (even to this day), the city of Santo Tomas in the US state of California. Oddly enough, just on the day that June's family settled in that city, more specifically in the suburbs, Johnny's sadness was suddenly replaced with joy upon seeing happy children running across the streets. As he learned that those children were also working as paperboys/girls, he quickly joined in their newspaper distributing operation, and over few years he had become so cheerful and friendly to everyone he met, that he had been considered the friendliest boy in the neighborhood, something that even less friendly ones were willing to admit.
During the days in San Miguel High School, he also quickly got along well with almost all of the students there, including the increasingly well known vixen named Rosemary Soro. Besides that, he continued on more adventures around the city with June, and ocassionally brought along his few friends for a try, though June would prefer Rosemary more, due to the latter's interesting self, most especially with the connection to her older brother Timothy.
In the middle of the third year, Johnny and June went to the mountains north of city, just out of curiosity, as they heard the rumor of some hermit living there. They accidentally crossed paths with the fortune teller, when the latter's carriage went loose downhill. After they saved the lone fortune teller from the imminent fall, she was more than happy to generously offer them two different pendants: a gold parrot pendant for Johnny and a silver frilled lizard pendant for June, all for free. Once worn on their necks, the two transformed into a parrot and a frilled lizard, respectively, as well as received powers and abilities related to the said animals. While Johnny was excited and June was horrified with these changes, they were immediately assured that these forms were temporary, only reliant on being worn. And so, the fortune teller spent hours till midnight, teaching the duo on using the pendants' powers, and once fulfilled and satisfied, the two parties parted ways on amicable terms. Johnny and June did later reach the hermit's house, whose appearance was based on what others described, but at that point it was already covered with a magical, soundproof dome, and there was nothing they could do about it.
Both Johnny and June graduated in high school with passable grades, and ventured into college together, albeit with different courses. Johnny opted to study for journalism, having already been inspired by his experience with June on their adventures. However, June had begun a continuous series of troubles of herself with the law and the government through increasingly controversial articles, that genuinely worried both her parents and Johnny, to the point that June became less frequent in adventuring with anyone else, let alone Johnny. Still, the former paperboy refused to give up his new passion and so decisively to lead future expeditions on her behalf, this time with his new friends who now bore similar interests.
PERSONALITY:
Johnny happens to be nothing more than an average boy, quite a generic and easy stereotype. He usually bears a carefree attitude, especially as a paperboy, that makes things easier for him to make friends, even those found harder to befriend. He is always optimistic, even in the face of an obvious danger. He often accompanies June on her adventures around the city, unless she has troubles to deal with on her own, then he can lead his own, either on his own or his friends. He has a knack for providing information, especially other topics deemed unrelated to certain situations, given the fact that he, a paperboy, also reads newspapers. Adding to the aformentioned stereotype, he is a weak fighter, so in a fight or flight scenario, he mostly relies on his bicycle to escape danger or bring others to safety, and sometimes uses his slingshot in self-defense.
And being an average boy comes with negatives as well, such as being naive to subtle hints of hazards and hostilities. He is an easy pick for ridicule and attack whenever his enemy gets a chance, but mostly because he's been taught to look after and even defend June, who is after all her adopted sister following the accident back in Alaska. Furthermore, he is still burdened with a trauma of the said accident that cost the lives of almost everyone he knew, including his parents, so he tries his best to maintain his optimism but consequently tends to get nervous whenever a hint of a topic is brought up. Even in his expeditions, he is prone to anxiety when things go beyond control, as in even beyond June's comprehension.
In his parrot form, he is much braver, stronger and more confident, yet still akin to a stereotype, this time a masculine hero, always up to save the day. Additionally, he can both fly and glide, and can even grab anything by his claws. However, he also retains his naivete and sometimes tends to briefly become arrogant without knowing it. He also bears a mannerism of mimicking sounds of any object or animal, and even repeating whatever anyone in his earshot says. When things go wrong, he proves himeself to be a serious yet competent fighter.
LIKES:
- Everyday Life: Pretty much a common thing for an average boy
- Having Friends: This reflects his friendly and cheerful personality
- Distributing Newspapers and Mail: This suits well with his passion of making friends
- Little Deviance from Boring Life: He doesn't mind a thing, not even from June, provided that he finds genuine enjoyment in it.
ABILITIES:
- Parrot Form: A more powerful and more competent form, with the ability to fly
- Golden Parrot Pendant: Other than the source of its parrot form, it can also be used as a magical shield
- Extreme Bicycle Skills: Given that few of his fellow paperboys used to perform bicycle stunts before college, it's no surprise that he learns to do those, especially in parkour and wide-gap jumping
SPECIAL:
- Originally as a full Human
- An average guy with a little twist
- Appeared once in Christmas Party 2017
- Designated as an Orphan who never knew what happened to his parents
