Hmm. Judging by the positioning of the cargo bay and solar flare extractors, my guess is this is a space vessel designed to submerge itself into the outer layers of a star, so it can extract solar matter.

thats a good guess, but this is actually how all my ships function. They use refined flare for planetary travel and reaching space, but the cost and distance of travelling through space is too much, so ships use flare currents that are produced by the sun which travel between and around planets, extracting and refining it into fuel so they can travel larger distances for much less cost.

So what does this "sub" submerge itself in, assuming it does? o.o

it doesnt really submerg at all, just designed after a submarine. though maybe i can come up with some thing it could submerge into, there are possibilities

Ooo! Perhaps they are refered to as subs because they ARE. They could be submarines retrofitted for space travel.

Yeah that could be possible to. The discovery of flight in this way came when a sailor discovered his ship floating on its own.

So cool!!! I'm working on designs for ships too. Though these are airships for a fantasy story I'm working on.

Hm. I am wondering two things here... One is, what does it submerge into, as opposed to other ships...
And how does it control its equivalent of buoyancy, given there are no gravity crystals.

I mean, I don't usually comment, but I do just love your worldbuilding, having lots of experience myself. It is interesting to see things you do similarly and differently, and just your general approach to things.
