Concept art sheet I painted for the ground level of Banyan from Second Star, a planet in orbit of a red dwarf with a thin band of swampy jungle that exists in perpetual twilight.
Second Star is still in active development. You can play our demo on Steam. The UI and quite a few of the core systems have received a full overhaul since the demo release, but it still does give you a great sense of what Second Star will be.

A couple of the real world plants that inspired the Cannibal Lifeform were indeed sundews and walking ferns. :) It moves very, very slowly though, so to answer your question, definitely not very dynamic at all! The Cannibal doesn't eat animal life but rather other plants, including its own species, hence the name. It'll wrap them with its tentacles and the tiny globules are digestive filaments that then begin breaking down the other plant.
