(Based on another of my Arcanum characters from back then)
Marie-Rose comes from a family of doctors and she is destined to continue the family tradition, skilled in herbology and therapeutics at quite a young age she was traveling abroad to expand her studies in the field of chemistry and other medicine.
While her family wasn't nobility they were still quite wealthy which allowed her to have a good classical and balanced education, though she skipped the more physical classes like fencing she did enjoy archery as a hobby even if she did not excell at it. Not that she minded much since as a future doctor she had taken an oath to do no harm, only to heal people so she did not mind having no real fihgting experience.
Discussing advances in sciense with her teachers and those she apprenticed under made her quite the persuasive conversationalist, a good skill to have for a doctor in order to explain things to patients, though she could as well have become a diplomat with the way she could talk her way out of many a situation. Also it comes in handy when haggling. Out of necessity she picked up a little about lockpicking as she tends to forget or lose the keys to her hotel room regularly, though it's not a skill she likes to mention due to raccoon stereotypes still persisting. Her perceptive nature does allow her to spot things that are out of the ordinary such as traps or hidden doors, though she lacks the expertise to disarm traps or open more advanced locks she can at least spot and avoid a trap before it becomes a danger.
If Marie-Rose had one flaw it would be that she is a bit too keen on gambling, often falling back on a game of chance to make some money for her travels, though usually luck is on her side and she wins more than she loses. However on the final leg of her journey she lost her ticket for the IFS Zephyr in a bet which was a bit of a setback but she made more money back afterward to allow her a ticket to Tarant on another new airship made by Hedersett. Turns out that loss was a blessing as she later heard that the IFS Zephyr had been shot down on her maiden voyage and there were no survivors of the crash...

well sometimes things happen through a reason. I remember once I had to take a very early flight to NYC and i lost the flight do to traffic. As chance as it sounds , later on the same flight i was need to take had got a drink into the Hudson River when it slided over the runway . Talking about a real chance. Next day i took another flight to NYC. Landed at Newwark. Lovely Airport.
