Everyone say hello to Winry Webigale O'Ducky! The latest addition the O'Ducky family.
Although relatives on both sides of the family strongly advised Yosh's parents against having any more children for fear of giving birth to yet another bizarre hybrid like their son, the merry couple just couldn't help themselves. After all, Yosh was turning out great and what little boy his age wouldn't like to have a little brother, or sister, to play with?
So, on one fateful day, magic happened and, a few months later, Yosh was staring at the egg that would soon hatch his brand new sibling.
"Ooh," awed Yosh. "Is that my little brother or sister?"
With a smile on her face, his mother gave her son a hug and said, "Wait and see."
Hatched about the time Yosh had begun his foray into potty training, Winry certainly did turn out exactly as Yosh's relatives had feared. However, despite being more like her father than her mother, she was happy and healthy and would grow up to be a wonderful addition to the O'Ducky family.

Yosh and Winry do make for quite a pair. The silliest part is that, despite appearing more duck, Yosh is the better swimmer between the two. Though, one thing they do have in common is they both can "flutter jump". Yosh using both his tiny arms and legs while Winry uses her little wings to attain some flight. Good times! :)
Mom and dad were definately a bit surprised when they discovered she could do that. After all, Yosh never was able to lay eggs and, well, one day Winry just ate something and *pop!* She found it funny to throw them at her brother and actually may have a career in softball as a pitcher. :)
She is indeed most friendly. Though, like any sister, she gets drove crazy by her older brother and can't help but always have fun competitions with him.
She is also very outgoing and not afraid to say, try, or do just about anything. As a result, she has been known to embarass the dickens out of her brother while making him go into panics in ensuring she stays out of too much trouble. :)

<LoL!> Mom and dad definately learned that the hard way. One day they were just out-and-about and, well, out went the tongue and, seconds later, *pop-snap!*, there was a purple egg laying right in the middle of the grocery store floor as her diaper just flung wide open and all she was revealed itself for all to see. Kazootles!
Dad, being the economist, wanted to just use "duck" tape to hold together the econo-brand nappies they had going for her. Fortunately, mom and the rest of the Yoshies on her side of the family knew better and got him to bite the bullet and invest in proper, padded protection against those unexpected egg layings. :)

Yep yep! The two of us big kids can teach the little ones all kindsa big and grown-up stuffs! *puts an arm around Yosh's shoulders happily*
Sounds like Winry was hatched at around the same time Zee-Zee's little sister Kit was born - I'm sure they'll be great friends! ^.^

Ooh! *Grows a wide smile* Even more reason for friendly visits is for our little sisters to play and get to know each other while we get to do all sorts of fun, fun stuff. *Hugs the clever squirrel* How happily convenient!
I'm a huge advocate for trying to have siblings close together. Allows them to bond a lot better by not having such an age difference to battle as they grow up together. It truly is amazing how only a few years can make such a difference between how kids view one another between the ages of 0 and 21. Usually, after 21, age starts to become less-and-less relevant. However, when your little, nobody wants to be associated with a baby and no teen wants to be clung to by an aspiring tween.

I agree! ^.^ My brother is just 20 months younger than me, and we were always very close, growing up. And we still are now!
My father, and his father before him, were each the youngest child in a family of ten, with more than twenty years between the first and last. I'm quite glad my dad didn't carry on that tradition, or I'd still have tweenie siblings hanging around me even now! ^.^

Gabby-Gaboo! My sis and I are actually a little over three years apart and, growing up, we did very well together. The fact we both share the same ocular condition and were so close in age also really helped as we were able to bond quite well and support one another during eye appointments and times when we felt going on a new med, or losing more sight, felt like the end of the world. It also worked out nice, being the older one, I paved a path for her into the public education system that, no sooner did I get through a grade, the instructors were ready for her and, as a result, she had a much easier time in school, too. :)
Yipes! My wife is actually #3 of 10 in a family and does have a tweenie bro and sis. It's quite awkward knowing that one of my son has an Uncle and Aunt who are 7 and 8 and he is 4. If they lived in the same town, the weirdness would be off the charts as they could potentially be in the same school and referring to each other as Aunt, Uncle, and Nephew. Yipes!

*giggle* My dad was an uncle before his first birthday. And he and his niece did live in the same town! ^.^ He was never really close to his siblings (eight brothers and a sister, with the nearest to him in age being seven years older than him), so I really do think it's a lot better to have children close together like us...
And awww, I'm sure you were a great big brother! I like the idea of you preparing everyone for your little sister like that! *hugs the helpful little yoshi-ducky*

Most definately. Her flutter is quite a bit faster and better than Yosh's and she is known to use it to her advantage when she wants to snag one of his cookies or toys.
"Hey!" cried Yosh as his hister went flapping off. "Give that back!"
With a giggle, Winry quacked and sputtered onward as she replied, "Gotta' catch me first!"

Aww, very cute! :D It's exciting getting to see a new addition to Yosh's family! And I don't think there's anything wrong with how Yosh turned out, so I'm glad they decided to keep havin' more! That cool Yoshi-Duck combination is totally adorable, and it's really neat seeing another permutation on it!
Mom and dad were back-and-forth on having another child for quite awhile. I mean, what if they had another hybrid that didn't turn out as well as Yosh?
Then, one day, Mrs. O'Ducky saw a cute, newborn Yoshi all snug in his mother's arms and said to Mr. O'Ducky, "Oh, we've just got to give our little Yosh a little playmate."
Not one to pass up on some more "quality time" with the Mrs., the O'Ducky's had their fun and, well, out came Winry! How well Yosh and her get along at times can be questionable. However, she is happy, healthy, and does play well with her big brother (most of the time). They certainly will grow up together nicely and prove that, even if you look different from everyone else, you are still special and can do a lot of amazing things with what the gift of life has granted you. :)
