It was a good idea at the time-- Opaline was rather tall and not one to pay a whole lot of attention to her surroundings. All Misty had to do was follow closely and stay "under hoof" in a figurative and literal sense. It was a calculated risk that she thought was sure to keep her hidden away from Opaline's machinations... but wow was misty bad at math.
