I was looking around the Dealers Den at Furry Weekend Atlanta this year, and my eyes caught sight of an opened portfolio featuring really neat examples of sci-fi and fantasy. I recognized the style and realized it was Hydralancer, an artist I'd followed a while back. Nice to see him there!
I suddenly became inspired with an commission idea that would fit his technique quite well. I asked him to draw my fennec girl, Ellie (third in my fennec fox mitsudomoe). I requested she be decked out in a blend of ancient Egyptian styling cues and futuristic sci-fi armor, with a lightsaber-like energy sword. He certainly did not disappoint
This concept has even given me an idea for a possible new story universe.
