Tony Stark is the most awesome man in the world. See movies Iron Man and Iron Man 2 immediately. :)

I will not. I am not a superhero fan in general, but if I have to watch a self-made hero without actual superpowers I'd go with Batman :P

The first Iron Man movie (2008) is excellent as a film, period, and is worth at least one viewing. The second, only if you're a fan of the character by that point, as it's both a weaker plot AND picks up literally right after the end of the first. The animated movies are a mixed bag, but I feel the same way about them; that they just won't appeal to you unless you're already into the franchise.

tl,dr: Rent the first movie and that'll tell you everything you need to know about the character, for good or bad.
