Where do you live? Try a local pit bull rescue.

Put her down? Is there something wrong with her, or are you just so heartless that you would have her put down for no good reason?

I'm aware of that, but there are enough no-kill shelters and pit bull rescue out there, many of which will meet people half way.

It shouldn't matter if there is or is not one NEAR them, there are plenty of shelters that will travel to help the owner out. If someone would rather resign the dog to being put down instead of finding a rescue to take the dog then I do consider that heartless, working at a vet clinic I have seen too many people who treat pets like they are disposable.

well, i am not going to argue about this, because atleast the person is TRYING to get the animal rehomed, instead of straight to the shelter or pound

Don't assume things like that... Having her put down is our LAST resort. Trust me, I've managed to keep her alive for the past month because I've persuaded my grandparents that I can get her rehomed. We have tried Staffie shelters, RSPCA and Dog's Trust and ALL of them are full. We cannot wait eight months to get her into a shelter because we really do need a flat and no flat will take a dog, ESPECIALLY a staffie. (We're homeless atm and relying on the hospitality of my grandparents.) This is why I've been begging people to post journals, putting up posters and asking everybody I know. I agree that putting down a perfectly healthy, 18-month-old dog is an awful thing to do, but we're running out of options. If worse comes to worst, it will break my heart, but it's better to let her go than be forced to neglect her because of lack of money and time for her...Surely you understand that?
