45-year-old Saburo is the master of his family’s Inari shine, which is believed to have been established in the Muromachi era and has been managed by the Zenigawa family for many generations. Saburo underwent years of training to ensure that he’d be able to effectively take over for his father when the time came. His life took quite the wonderful turn at 21, when he met a beautiful fellow kitsune named Kimiko, who decided she wanted to work at the shrine as a miko. The two of them fell in love and began dating, and after three years, they’d married. Saburo’s father retired from his role as head of the shrine, allowing Saburo to take his place. Saburo has significant magical power, having grown seven of his nine tails, and he’s been pleased to see his children developing their skills and growing more tails so quickly. While he takes his job seriously, he also knows when to lighten up and have fun, and one thing he loves doing for fun is indulging in his not-so-secret love of bloating himself up and others. He’ll find any excuse to inflate or fatten himself, Kimiko, or really anyone he thinks would make a great blimp — of course, it helps that the shrine has a few long-standing annual events that help him indulge in these things, much to his immense delight!
