Starting soon we're looking at the remaster of the 2D, 386 classic that was the first stepping stone to an epoch of 3D gaming. Before the dulcet tones of Jon St.John and before he stole his lines from Piper and Campbell, Duke was an up-and-coming action hero with an obsession with Oprah and a buzz-cut that could kill. We'll play through the first episode of each title and see how well this Remaster brushes up the rough edges of the original releases

It was an excuse to play these again; I probably haven't played through these since I was like... 16?
I'm glad I started collecting Evercade games when I did (especially since some of them are getting out of print, even some historically important ones like the Oliver Twins Collection). If nothing else it's providing a way for people to play and physically collect games without getting into the utter toxic swamp that is retro-game collecting right now

That is a lot of the appeal of Evercade for me, getting physical copies of some of these titles without having to go to the retro collector's market (which I somewhat enjoyed in the mid-2000s or so but have long since been put off to).
I did watch just about the whole stream and really enjoyed it. Based on what I saw, and the good points and bad you mentioned about the collection, I'm still definitely interested in picking that up.

I'm glad you found my stream informative! I did a stream on the Evercade EXP when it first came out, but I've debated revisiting it from time to time just to cover all the new games that came out for it (and the ones I didn't get around to the first time). There are honestly enough niche and curious games on there it warrants repeated views.
If there's any particular cart that you're curious about, let me know and I'll try to feature it on the next stream

I will have to go back and check that stream out - it really does seem like the console has enough to offer now that you could go back and get quite a bit of streaming content from that.
One of the first cartridges on my list if I go ahead with an Evercade would be Renovation Collection 1 - it has a few things that I wasn't aware of except by name until recently that I now want to check out like Exile and Acrus Odyssey. The Sunsoft collection is also on the list mainly to get a copy of Aero the Acrobat and the Gameboy Blaster Master.
