They need to get together and talk about their feelings on pokemon. I think they would get along well.

It kinda helps that he's the only 'real' Rival besides Blue/Green/Gary/Whatever-you-wanna-call-him. The ones in the other games since the first 2 generations never get anywhere near as threatening OR as skilled.. Gary made you want to punch him at times, and Silver just was an unpleasant human being. The rest since then? Too nice!

best rival ever. unlike brendan/may/wally or dawn/lucas/damian who want to be your friend. a true rival is some one who wants to crush you and take it for all its worth

Wally was more of a friendly rival at least. Cheren? Yeah, I liked him. If they do remake Gen III games, I think they should make you fight the rivals more. I liked having multiple rivals. :P

yeah that would be great. however they need to make rivals that you want to beat. ones that arent friends trying to have fun or test there love for there pokemon. they need rivals like silver and gary.

Actually I think he was a better rival than Brendan & May. The two are friendlier to you, yes, but Silver never gives up.

I never played Crystal. But I have been watching the playthrough of the Vietnamese version you mentioned a couple days ago.

...I really have no idea what's going on from that version, though. ^_^;; All I know is that he has monaters, and he is a monster.... coach.

He was a good rival but sometimes after slogging through a place like Mt. Moon I wish there was an option to punch trainers/rivals in the face instead of fighting them. Especially Gary, burn in hell Gary.

If I recall correctly you run into him in FireRed and he reveals that 'his father runs Team Rocket'. So Giovanni is his dad... yup i'd be an angry little douche too.

I hate to admit that I actually thought his name was ??????? when you had the option to name him. I was so stupid when i was that young. XD
