Delightfully nomable combintion of Veg, Beef and rice all rolled into one wonderful dish from the kitchens of
shebawolf145
This was originally made by my mom but I tweaked a few things and made it my own :)
Ingredients:
1lb Ground beef, steak cut into cubes, or pork cut into cubes. You can probably use any meat you prefer but I've only used beef and pork.
2 cups (dry) Instant rice
3 tbsp Sesame oil
1 tbsp Soy sauce
1 tbsp Terriyaki sauce (the thin marinade kind)
3-4 thin slices Fresh ginger
Onion powder to taste
1 tbsp minced garlic (in the little jars with oil)
1 Can green beans
1 Canned mushrooms
Pepper to taste
In a saucepan or deep skillet combine everything but the meat, green beans, and mushrooms. Stir and heat at high heat until oil is hot. Add meat and cook about half way then add the green beans and mushrooms and reduce heat to medium high. While those cook put your instant rice in the microwave. Most instant rices take 5 minutes, that should be enough time to finish the rest of the stuff. If the rice gets done first that is ok, let the rice sit to soak up any water that may be left.
Once the beef and veggies are done spoon the rice into bowls and top with the meat and veggies. Stir them together and enjoy!
This feeds myself and my mate but we can eat quite a bit. Feel free to experiment with the amounts of stuff you put in to suit your tastes.
Also, my mate likes to add Kraft Asian Toasted Sesame dressing to his. It is also very good with that added if you like a bit of tangyness added.
If you try this let me know what you think!
