Digital painting I made for my mother's Christmas present this year- shhh, don't tell her! She really likes bears so I decided to paint two in a cozy nook in the woods.
Yea, a picture for a Christmas present sounds cheap but our family's budget is non existent, so.

Weeeell, framing it would require a printer I do not have and a frame I cannot afford with a budget of nothing :X. Sort of ironically I used to work at the local framing shop so you'd think I could have some strings pulled or something but nah.
On the other hand, my mother's second husband isn't going to get me anything and usually just calls Christmas dinner his present for her. The only thing anyone can get for me that I would use is video games and I never told her I wanted any, and she cannot even get me like, junk food or candy or anything as a simple gift because I have no teeth now so I can't eat anything! So she cannot get me any gifts. We did not even put a tree up this year because it would just emphasize the fact we can't afford anything to put under it. So as small as this gift may seem... it might actually be the only gift given at all, by anyone in this house this Christmas. Therefore it is by default, the best gift.

My past gift ideas have been pictures, an email (long ass letter about thanking her for being my mom, how she was what kept the house together and functional all those years, etc), and origami >.<. The origami one I made into a sort of scavenger hunt too, to try to turn the simple gift into a mini experience, lol- a crow that can be stood up on the edge of a surface since its one of her favorite animals, a rabbit because its her birth sign, and of course an origami bear which was by far the hardest origami I have ever done and probably ever will do, and that is including the time I folded a paper crane the size of my thumb nail.
Yea, there is a box of ornaments we have used since I was a little kid. Actually I have a horrible looking nearly completely destroyed snowman ornament I keep on my shelf at all times- it is the oldest tree ornament we have; it predates my birth by one year. We have a lot of ornaments made of tin that were actually given to us by the Tin Smith at Old Fort William Historical Park, and instead of a star for the top of the tree we used a painted beaver skull, rofl. They're budget but they work.
