Speaking of Tolkien Orcs, I was thinking in pop culture Orcs are usually depicted as being Tribal Warriors but that is so far removed from their original Tolkien versions. They were brutes yeah but they were also extremely organized and industrial.

Yeah, my depiction of the Tolkien Orcs is really more akin to his Goblins, but Goblins and Orcs were basically the same soooo... No regrets really x)

I think that was a D&D thing to differentiate their orcs from their hobgoblins. They were both originally industrious and militant but that was considered redundant so orcs, being the ones that were depicted as being larger and stronger, were changed to be the barbarian hordes.
