My "worgen" mask. The photographers at school were kind enough to take a few studio shots of my wolf mask after I finished my theatre photoshoots. The color in this picture is 100% true to the fur's real life color. Also, the mask is actually being worn (by me) in this picture, so the positioning of the ears is how they sit when the hood is filled out by a human head underneath.
FAQ:
1) Q: You made this?
A: Yes. The only things that were not handmade by me are the eyes (Van Dykes Taxidermy) and the fur material (Fabricland).
2) Q: Do you take commissions?
A: Not yet. This is my first mask, so I don't quite feel ready. I want to make at least one more on my own so I can improve my techniques. I am hoping to be able to start taking commissions by June 1st.
3) Q: How did you make this?
A: I sculpted the wolf face with oil-based clay (Chavant NSP) over a lifecast of my own face. I made a mould of the clay using silicone (Rebound 25) and then cast the form in lightweight resin plastic (Smoothcast 300). I put the eyes in and sclupted the eyelids on with Apoxie Sculpt. I cut apart the jaw and made hinges using the same plastic and put them on with hot glue. I sculpted the jawset in oil-based clay - it is a scaled down version of a taxidermy jawset I own. I moulded and cast it exactly like the face, then painted the teeth with acrylic paint and hot glued them into the mask. I then glued the fur onto the face, then made the hood and attached that. I shaved down the face fur with electric dog groomers and finally made and attached the ears. Lastly, I painted the fur with acrylic washes. If you look through my gallery, you can see the progress pictures.
4) Q: Are you selling this mask?
A: Yes, I will be selling it in mid-April by auctioning it on Furbid. The mask auction will start at $500 and include a tail.
5) Q: Will you be making other animals?
A: Yes, I am planning to make a small canid face in April, then a domestic cat and large cat in May.
6) Q: What other anthro items do you make?
A: I can make tails. I have not yet tried handpaws and feetpaws, but I have plans to try very soon. I will not be making fullsuits for a long while.
7) Q: Can you teach me how to make a mask like this?
A: Can I? Yes. Will I? No. Feel free to ask any questions I haven't covered, but I don't have the time to or interest in giving anyone a step-by-step walkthrough.
8) Q: Where did you learn to make this mask?
A: I have been watching Qarrezel's livestream for many months and asked her a few questions here and there. I used a method very similar to hers.

very nice. I love it when I see good photographs of good work so you can really see the detail.
I get turned off by the eye set and big tear ducts on a lot of resin masks, but these are spot on. How's the vision?
the only thing I would recommend if you haven't done it yet is to put some kind of sealer on the teeth so the acrylic doesn't scratch off.

Thank you ^_^
The vision is terrific forward, but obviously it is severe tunnel vision - kind of like binoculars without the zoom. I tried to do the eye "holes" in such a way that the tear duct vision didn't stick out like a sore thumb because frankly I believe that should be the least noticeable part of a mask.
The teeth are sealed with clear nail polish, actually, so no worries. :)
