This has me thinking about a potentially sad and also heartworming scenario.
If Nine even knows what Santa is, it's possible that he's very jaded due to not getting what he wants from him while everyone else around him gets what they want.
So, imagine Sails and Mangey are excited for Santa visiting them, but Nine rains on their parade. He says to them within earshot of the now panicking adults, "You're not getting presents from him. Everyone knows that Santa doesn't...", and then sad adults and kids at what they hear next, "... visit orphans and freaks!!!".
Then surprise, confusion, and pure excitement when he actually gets a present this time.
