This one has a shore story written by my dear Zero_Leaf
Early morning was looming over the horizon and day inhabitants were soon to be leaving their homes. The big cat stopped at the river's edge, looking into the silent water. А thing tangled by water lilies caught her attention, it was bright and lonely.
When she returned to the den, a small whiskered kitten had been awaiting her. The kit roused himself up as he noticed a peculiar little thing in mum's teeth, but did not dare to ask.
‘Human toy,’ the big cat responded, stroking the beloved child on his nape with the whiskers. ‘It fell down into the stream and flowed far away from the day town. It shall live with us from now on.’
The cat carefully put the toy duckling down in front of the child, it made a happy squeaking sound welcoming the new home.
‘So what is it exactly?’ the kitten asked, looking puzzled at the unknown creature. ‘Is it a new friend?’
Kit raised his eyes to ask the big cat, but she was already leaving the den, not staying long after an unsuccessful hunt. The duckling was more of a guest.
‘Let’s be friends, shall we?’ the kitten touched the toy with his soft whisker.
The duckling had stayed silent. Must be shy.
