The Leviathan is a massive marine wyrm that hunts in coastal waters all around the equator, with the largest population being located around the continent of Uluria. It is an ambush predator that uses the darker coloration on its back to blend in with the murky depths. Once it catches its prey (typically a small whale, marine reptile, or large fish) the wyrm will coil around it in a death grip which suffocates it. After the victim stops moving, the Leviathan will use its jaws to tear chunks of flesh off of it and slowly consume it at its leisure.
Adult Leviathans have no known natural enemies, but younger and smaller individuals often fall prey to sharks and Dragon Turtles. To defend itself from potential enemies, the Leviathan has one secret weapon: scalding breath. This marine wyrm can expel boiling water out of its mouth; underwater this attack is effective only at close range, but above water can be devastating to anything that gets within range of it (which is about 20 meters/ 60 feet).
