I used to draw pages of 'filler art' to send to various fanzines.
The usual deal was to give contributing artists a free copy of whatever their work appeared in, which I thought was pretty spiffy.

This was one of my first attempts to draw random anthro faces (in other words, not a specific made-up character). You can see quite a few wince-worthy attempts here. You can also see more than a little influence from Rankin-Bass (thank you, Thundercats).
