Oh, gosh, I think I've screwed up: I thought we'd all have 'til Monday (the 11th), a week after the names were picked for who we'd be writing for. It took me a couple of days to grok what I thought would fit the person and their fursona and I remembered a science-fiction novel I'm fond of in my Kindle library and have been reading it swiftly over the last couple of days. I haven't even written down anything for the story gift yet.
Look, could you ask whoever it was that was picked to write for me not to send theirs to me? I screwed up here and this isn't right; if I do accept it I'm going to feel awful because I didn't do my part and I didn't understand in the first place. I must've glossed right past the specifics in your post a week ago when you suggested the Christmas Story Exchange; I had meant to ask you when the day came whether I should send it directly to the person the story was intended for or if there was going to be a thread like this.
And this makes more sense, when I reckon it; that it would be the analogue to the Thursday Prompt this week and that's when and where they'd all be posted. I expected something atypical and not per the usual method so it didn't occur to me that the posting day and format would be precisely that in the end.
I know how much I need really specific instructions and I knew I wasn't on the ball with some of them but I figured I'd still have 'til Monday and now I don't have anything for the person who was looking forward to their gift or you all in the present thread in good faith and merited cheer. The ball was in my court and I needed to ask but didn't think it was a risk that the deadline was the next Thursday Prompt and not this coming Monday. I really screwed up and this time it wasn't just for fun, it was something I'd promised to do and now one of you isn't going to get their gift because of my screwup.
I think I need some space today, I'm not handling this very well. I really, really am sorry, to all of you. I don't know if I'm supposed to say who it was my tale was intended for so I won't; they I assume will know when they don't see their story gift and Vixyy of course will know, and you've full permission and by your leave to tell them.

What...I don't understand, then. Why did Vixyy post hers, and everyone above posted theirs? I mean, I assume that's what they are; there's no further context than the links, I know. God, I wish it was easier for me to ask and not be scared to death I'm going to have my hand smacked or told I'm being foolish for asking a question that most people wouldn't need to.
I can't handle this, I really can't handle this. I know I can't expect anyone to read my mind but I need specifics when it comes to special or specific instructions for something like this. And now I know I can still do this...I feel like I'm going to throw up, I can't handle this rollercoaster. This isn't any unkindness you did, you told me that today wasn't the deadline. I'm sorry, I am not at all good at this.

Please, no one is thinking anything wrong about you and you didn't do anything bad. I would say that the deadline is kinda fluid and people who posted on 7th just posted on the beginning of the deadline. But it isn't any corporate job or anything like that; it's okay if you post it later and so on. It's really sad to see you worry like that. Everything is okay and if you want to back down or if you want to write that and post a week after today it's okay.
I don't think you're foolish or anything. If anyone thinks that they're foolish themselves, which is actually somewhat amusing. I wish you peace of mind and Happy Holidays, Twopaw. ^^ (well, very early for that but why not wish it nonetheless)
