Yyyyup. This is the kind of situation that leaves a pit in my stomach. Losing your sense of self like that and falling to the whims of someone else entirely in this way is a nightmare scenario for me.

I understand the unfortunate truth that there wasn't really any other choice, but I am all in for Roko finding a way for all of them to get out of this mess.

It's not mind control. More like forced-obedience. When the pendant activates, they do what she says (panel 2, 3, 5). Otherwise, they're themselves (1, 4).

I get why you think I may have thought this was straight up mind control by saying "losing one's sense of self." Phrasing was bad on my end, and that one's on me.

My emphasis was moreso on the latter statement of "falling to the whims of someone else," since that is more like what is going on here. I won't take the high ground and say you misinterpreted my statement because, again, I was the one who was bad with phrasing. But I figured I would try to clarify what I really meant.

Well, looks like Brand's and Saida's fishy situation got even more difficult. Hopefully Dolphin Roko understands how important and severe this situation is. Hopefully Dolphin Roko realizes that he is the only person that can help Brand and Saida return to their normal forms and escape from Darya's underwater tyranny. Roko is the key to defeating Darya. Hopefully Roko takes this seriously and doesn't screw this up.

The only situation I can see for them to escape is if Roko kills Darya, if Roko can come up with a magic spell of his own to use against Darya, or if Roko can transfer his soul into Darya's body and possessing her. The first option is what I think is more than likely to happen because the other two options doesn't help Brand and Saida to return to their normal forms, but anything is possible in a Virmir comic. Hopefully Dolphin Roko can find out what Darya's weakness is and use it against her or hopefully that he can remember to suck and eat Darya's soul completely from her body just like what he did to those bugs. Hopefully Darya doesn't sing and cause Dolphin Roko to explode again.

Super phenomenal job as always. I always look forward to reading every new page. This story arc is super cool, humorous, and entertaining to watch. Keep up the awesome job and I can't wait to see what happens next, Virmir. ^^

Up until now,Roko has only been able to take the souls of stupid, simple creatures, which Darya is NOT. And even then, outside of mere insects, they HAD to already be dead.

I know, but hopefully with the more souls that Roko consumes, the bigger, stronger, and smarter he can be so he can finally take Darya's soul....... Or maybe if someone knows how to cast a spell to make her stupid, Roko could take Darya's soul, if he chooses that route. Darya isn't dumb, but she can be naive sometimes, which in my opinion will be her downfall. It is just going to take time..... but anything can happen in a Virmir comic. Hopefully Roko finds a way to defeat Darya.

I'm a little surprised that Darya didn't just use their gills to blackmail them, but apparently, she doesn't take any chances. Now they've got mind control amulets on - it wouldn't surprise me at all that if they tried to take those amulets off, their gills would promptly disappear.

Still up to Roko-san. The other two aren't going anywhere.

The key is probably going to be in that contract there.

Roko is going to have to go hard Metal Fin Solid in order to obtain and destroy it. Of course in the process he's going to have to kill Darya, but that's just how the game is played.

The biggest problem is how he's going to be able to counter the song.

Fortunately, Dolphins are adept at underwater sound warfare IRL, so I really don't know how this is gonna play out.
