This idea came out of a discussion with a few fellow Ajani fans. The headcanon is that Ajani took on some of Melira's power when she cured him, and he's made it his mission to try to undo do some of the damage he did and the corruption he caused while he wasn't himself. It would play well with his role as a healer and his character trait of bringing out the inner strength of his allies (not to mention his frequent card mechanic of life gain). And it would give some meaning to the fact that he's retained his spark while most other planeswalkers haven't. So who knows? ;)

Yah, I can see where you comming from! It's definitely nice to think how Ajani would how Ajani could help in the aftermath and tries to heal from his own pain.
And he is one of the strongest healers in the multiverse, so if anyone could pull it of, it's surely him.
And I think we will surely see some old faces, but probably only planewalkers or ex planewalkers. Phyrexians could only compleat planeswalker by keeping their sparks. And that's why Melira could heal Ajani in the first place, namely by cleaning and healing his spark. But Brimaz doesn't have a spark, sooo yaaahh. He probably can't be brought back :(

There is at least some precedent for a non-planeswalker returning from compleation, and Brimaz's compleation is a bit different in that it was "passive" according to the lore, owing only to his exposure to the oil while he was busy mowing down phyrexians. It's not the "full" deal that the planeswalkers underwent. I don't disagree that I think there's little chance WotC actually goes this route. I just think there are enough questions, loopholes, and exceptions there that it could be a possibility if they wanted it to be, and it would make narrative sense in Ajani's skillset and character arc. We can dream. :)

This is a beautiful piece, and I love the idea of this scene. Ajani would absolutely be the one to go around healing away the compleation from those that are still corrupted if he obtained the power, it fits him so well. Brimaz hurt to lose so imagining this outcome makes me happy
