Yeah, I've heard about that. I believe the staties in my state did the same thing. We're only about 4 hours from New York at the far end so one probably got the idea from the other LOL. Similar thing happened with the Checker A1 taxicabs, though in both cases the 1980s box caprice models seemed to persist through and alongside. If i'm being completely honest, my fave caprice is the 1984 because its got the 3-squares tail lights AND dual sealed beam headlights. My girlfriend has one done up as a cop car she rents to movie sets and when she drives it there the cops who have been on the force a long while always tell her they miss those and can't stand the explorers they've got now. tbf neither can i.
