Back in '98 I helped some friends make a few indie films & one of them rented a warehouse space that was adjacent to what was then the RI miniature train society's HQ. I got to hang out with them for a few hours & it was really cool seeing all the tracks & miniatures. My uncle had a train set in the basement of the house I grew up in & he had a bunch of scale houses & stations.
Since 2011 I've lived across from the Bertram train depot down here in Texas. It's a cute little station not much bigger than a shed, really. I wish the steam train was still running. Hopefully they'll finish restoring it someday.
