Hello guys!
I have been a little more active lately~ I swear that all of you are going to get fed up with me these days with so much that I will upload artworks aaaaaaaaaaa ;W;
In recent months I have managed to take better care of myself because I was having a hard time with the few hours I slept, the amount of hours I worked, delivered a large amount of commissions and I have managed to ensure that this year does not destroy me due to the various factors of life, there is a lot to share and talk about but I don't know where to start ;_;
I think I'll start getting ahead of myself with.... gifts! I have several surprises to share with you guys! In a few hours I will share and present something very important from my life as support to give more quality to all of you with my work the family grows! I'll leave that there atm hehe
PROJECTS! I have 3 big ones to offer to start this new year ahead! As I said before, I had a little decline as an artist this year but I always stay positive and strong and I'm so excited because this is now a reality! PATREON....will open these days and what I will offer is very good if anyone is interested in supporting me, if you think my current work is good...on patreon the quality will be incredible!
YCH Christmas....? YES will be here SOON with the same format as Halloween, minimal things about that project will be shared soon, stay tuned 👀
Commissions? ....only the last 3 slots commission from this year are available....so I don't think I will open them again tbh and if I do....there will be big changes
There are more things to share but the most important thing I have left you, I already told you, I am very excited and guys on the waiting list for orders...many of you will be spamed with your pieces this week, I feel like a kind of Santa Claus (? delivering a lot of art to you good fluffies bois

Whatever you end up doing, I look forward to supporting you in whatever way I can. You're an amazing artist, and while I'll be sad over the possibility that you'll not be offering commissions anymore, I am excited to see your progress and would much rather see you taking care of yourself!
It will depend enormously on how the projects that I will upload very soon are received, the possibility that the commissions will disappear is 80% possible but there are other ways that I have planned to get some custom artwork from me

It seems like you're more stressed by the time management than anything else. If it helps at all, I'm not really worried about any sort of wait. I know you deliver good work, and based on other journal comments, a lot of your clients feel the same way. Maybe if you include an extended period of wait times in your ToS that'll take a lot of stress off of you?
tbh...it's probably because not a lot of folks enjoy having to pay for art that isn't even their own, and exclusivity breeds a sense of entitlement to some.
Patreon exists to support artists you enjoy and want to see succeed, but not everyone (in fact a majority) has that sort of money or time to pledge monthly.
Five bucks might not seem like a lot, but when you live paycheck to paycheck and have to save up to get even one art piece every few months...it can be a big deal to promise a specific amount each month only for a maybe-chance to ALSO pay for a commission. If it's even available.
Not to mention, it's yet another piece of social media to keep track of.

I don't have problems with people having Patreon/Subscribestar/etc so they get income for their artwork. It doesn't matter if you pay or not, nothing will change for you as the viewer.
My main problem is when people make "Patreon exclusives", aka when you put premium content that only subscribers can see ('tier exclusives' is an even greedier extension of this), and you, only as a regular viewer, have to see your feedback flooded with cropped previews redirecting you to the pay site.

Museums/musicals (which are exhibitors, but I suppose you meant classical artists and bands) are a different league and not good examples of what we are talking about (even if they are all forms of art), I would use any digital content creator instead.
Also, sorry?? We are just giving our opinions about a specific case that doesn't even apply to the artist of this account (or at least not now), we don't feel superior to others because of this or are saying "do not support this artist because I don't like how they ask for money".

I am and have always been supportive of CB. They're not only my favorite artist, but one of my first friends on FA. I was also one of their first commissioners before they started getting big. We've been through everything from projects to relationship struggles, health scares, and so forth.
I don't ever want CB to give up what they want or what they feel is best. I just have the right to have a different opinion on something as a friend, and to explain that opinion. The commission process, to me, is also a bonding process. Since CB and I are seven hours apart (iirc) and have whole lives to live, we don't often get to spend a lot of time together. But discussing projects and seeing each other grow is a big thing for us. On both fronts.
If that sounds like an entitlement?
And if other commissioners who's relationship with the artist might vary heavily also value CB's art don't want to be trapped behind a paywall and never be able to work together again...?

Dear Santa Oliver, I'm always super happy to hear from you and get able to support you in whatever way I can. You have so many important and fabulous news to share with us, delicious projects and ideas. I know you are an absolute amazing artist Ollie, but also take in consideration to have little breaks from time to time as you very VERY deserve it sweetie. I'm always honored and pleased to see your lovely illustrations, still I wish you can enjoy your holidays and be more taking care of yourself these next weeks. Big hugs darling 🤗💙
