By the time you hear the sound of Deinonychus' claws, it's often too late. Excellent hunters, they jump out of hiding and pounce on prey. Deinonychus is also an excellent climber; he looks for high places, jumping from ledge to ledge, and lies there, waiting for prey.
A hungry Deinonychus is usually fearless and hunts prey much larger than itself, latching onto the dinosaur's back with its sickle-shaped claws and beginning to eat the prey before it dies.
