Why be a fox at all if you can't appear well dressed?
This is a bit of a deviation from the warriors and soldiers of the other races showcased thus far. Instead, this individual is both an introduction to the Liskai race and one of the available heroes for the Beastfolk, a renowned assassin named Lord Yanko. He is also an outspoken abolitionist that seeks to make life miserable for the wealthy, virtually untouchable Beastfolk aristocrats who continue to make a fortune on the slave trade while the government does little to stop them.
The Liskai are a diverse race of vulpine humanoids who make their homes throughout the Beastfolk Alliance, living on the edges of society. As a people they have diverse appearances and cultures, part of their efforts to fit in with their 'host' races.
Whenever a certain line of work is difficult or undesirable, the Liskai always seem to be around to pick up the slack. As most are too poor or simply forbidden from owning land, the most successful among them work as merchants, soldiers, agents, or spies. While they may appear unprincipled as a people, their lack of inhibition is a key survival mechanism that has treated them well through the years.

A gentleman, and an assassin. Good match.
The posing of the character suites both; the casual stance of a gentleman, but the watchful eye of an assassin.
I infer by the tri-clawed scar on his cheek that he had one encounter that became too close for comfort; am I right?
And of course, nothing mixes things up in a war-torn continent like a healthy dose of paid mercenaries...

Indeed, he's a bit of a gentleman assassin, or at least he used to be an assassin by profession. Now he runs a clandestine organization whose goal is to find the ringleaders of slavery operations and apply pressure to make them stop- even if said pressure involves murder. The scars on his cheek are related to his profession- when people realize that you're there to assassinate them, it can result in an ugly fight.
Red fox Liskai mainly live alongside the Vucari, but there are other 'morphs', like the Grays, who live among the Checchiatari, Fennecs, who live in the southernmost reaches along the Human frontier, and Arctics, who understandably make their homes in the far north, in the lands of the Rosomai, Sabalazmon, and Hirvi.
Each tends to fit a social role pertaining to the needs of their host society. The Vucari are somewhat taciturn and pragmatic, so the Red Liskai are entertainers and artists- though their role outside of Vucari society also enables them to work for the government as diplomats, spies, assassins, or considerably less dangerous jobs like bean counters and paper hangers.
The Checchiatari are flamboyant and diverse, always involved in squabbles between their city-states. The Gray Liskai can move between cultures with relative neutrality, so they're relied upon for diplomacy and rational counsel, often working as envoys, lawyers, and accountants.
The Sabalazmon and Rosomai are openly hostile to each other while the Hirvi are very remote. The White Liskai trade goods between the various cultures and enable a generally higher standard of living and wealth than if those species attempted the work on their own.
The Patkani live in a pretty lawless landscape, where crime and banditry are persistent problems. They are also the main source of slave labor, with victims crossing in secret over land or water to get smuggled into the lands of the Highland Dwarves, the Elves, and sometimes the Orcs. There the Yellow Liskai are more adapted to hot environments, though it's speculated that they once lived much further south, possibly in the Outrene itself. They're the shortest of the Liskai, but they're still taller and tougher than Patkani, making them good fighters for hire. Some work as slavers while others protect communities from threats. Some keep the Bazir Humans from crossing the frontier while others protect illegal traffic over the border. It makes for a chaotic scene, but the constant fighting undoubtedly makes them tough- maybe tougher than their bigger brethren.

Wow, that is quite possibly the longest reply I've ever seen.
So many details. So much back-story... Thanks for the information. It's great to see how well-developed and varied your created races are.
Now, I may have to arrange a meeting between the Captain of the Skirmishers, Dominik Raes, and a Liskai...
The plot thickens.
