I've endured hardships, some very severe. A few of the most significant occurred around age 15, as those marked the change from innocent child to the anxious mess of an adult that I grew into.
While Amaiya is a reflection of me and she has my struggles and growth, I believe Missy is a reflection of that version of me that was lost. She's like, loading up an old save state.
Missy's age is weirdly defined because of that. She has a childlike appearance and personality, yet she also is branched off from and carrying development from my adult self.
Childhood innocence. Before big responsibilities, and before the long series of mental health issues that I struggled with following bad events. Just a kid who spent most of her free time playing on her Gamecube and binging anime.
I consider all my Sona's to be dating all my partner's Sona's. They all reflect parts of me, and I as a whole person am dating them. With Missy, the relationship dynamic has a much larger focus on that paternal nurture that Eden is able to provide.
I love this comic. I feel like it captures their relationship very well. It feels like an incredibly authentic interaction. Eden a loving caretaker, and Missy a responsibility avoidant child just wanting to play her games.
The interaction was written entirely by the artist, knky_paradx, and they managed to so accurately reflect the truth of these characters.
I'll sing knky_paradx's praise for days for the quality of the work they've done, and I'm excited to work with them further.
