Death Otter
An art project for class called "Armor for Aardvarks", the goal is to design barding for an animal. I choose a river otter. Obvious reasons, of course.
This is the end results, working with flashing, kind of like sheet metal mixed with tinfoil. I cut my right hand quite a bit whilst making this. Lots of errors on my part, and little imperfections in the metal working (sharp edges, cuts leading too far into the metal, etc). The quality is poor, but fun to look at. I like the booty the best. There's a matching one. On, you know, the other side.
Normally I don't upload this crap here, as its kind of... well its just crap. But I need to start building a portfolio you know. This won't make it in. Certainly not. But I'd love to do this again as it was great fun and were it not for the restrictions of time I would continue to work on it. Man. I need the materials though.
A'ight. Thanks for taking a gander folks. I'll upload a second from another point of view

damn that's nice, if you were doing commisions on these how much would you charge for say... a german shepherd sized suit of armor as a house decoration?
only asking because I have a suit of armor I bought at an estate sale and I was looking to get a suit of armor meant for a dog to go along with it

At this juncture its not feasible for me to do, as I am in the midst of class and unemployment.
If I had to guess two factors would come into account:
a. Size; The larger it is, the more time and the more resources.
b. Demand; I'd love to do this on my own time just for fun, but if I get some demand I could likely charge less so that I can buy materials in bulk.
I'd hazard about 100 dollars, just because its a nice round number, that's sort of up there. But, like I said, not any time soon. Feel free to pester me about it though. If I do pursue this I'd love to do it!

>.> Can I change my initial appraisal?
The materials themselves are relatively cheap, the tools are likely a little more expensive. Though, this stuff is definitely not for actual use. Again, I'd have to do it myself a couple of times, figure out time and research and what not.
