Cute, but what's a "brony?"

"Bronies" are the mutual support alliance of Fantasy/Animation/Pop Culture Geeks who are fans of the new MLP show. We want to be sure everyone knows that there's noting at all wrong with middle-aged men enjoying a cartoon show marketed at little girls, as long as it's as smart, funny and visually interesting as this one is. The term seems to have originated on 4chan, but we won't hold that against it.

For one, a male MLP (often an avatar of a fan), for another a male MLP fan, now that MLP is finally upped in quality and accesability to HS/college level...

Brother + Pony = Brony

(The term is gender-neutral; it can apply to boys or girls.)

Why does his cutie mark include a sword? Is he Conan the Librarian?

About the only criticism I could level is that the black outline's unusual for the new designs – but the model is spot-on!

As for commissions, not officially. But IM me and we'll talk...

I'd say that a darker blue of the same hue as the coat would do nicely.

And a black mane and tail? Go for navy blue. The ponies and their universe are full of color.

...I'd come to the conclusion that MLP:FiM was inescapable and that I must be the one out of step with the rest of the world, so I'd better familiarize myself. I'm not ready to say its the most awesome thing I've seen in a long time (I've been out of the cartoon loop for some years now) and I was perplexed by how people seemed to hail Regular Show as something wonderful, so I assumed audience expectations had dropped while I was away. This new show disposes of the cloyingly cute vibe of the earlier Hasbro ponies and focuses on wild humor, even satire. Only one real dud episode out of the bunch so far (Dog and Pony Show).

And I've been keeping my eye out for Timey Wimey pony. (Fans have named him Dr. Whoof, but I think Timey Wimey is much cuter and more fitting.) Suddenly I have a craving for apples!
