Nope. totally original but Mechanics tend to be Herosystem 4th Ed as that is the only rilebook I have to hand that I like. I am not familiar enough with D20, and doing total free form is kindof a cheat IMO. Bt the system is usually only there when combat arises, and a good negotiator can usually avoid combat
