Two pals, resting in the evening sun and getting ready to head to bed. Mei cuddles Gabu's fur tightly, as it's soft warmth embraces him. Soon, both are asleep safe and sound accompanied by eachother. The love of the two lets them forget the troubles of real life for just a moment.

I think this scene might have happened several times at the end of the story though lovely-cute it was kept behind to properly expose as much plain-explicit. eventhough there is nothing dirty-naughty or properly censorable for wide audiences, as it´ll be more controversial for conservative parents and public than the more subtle ambiguous undertones take for the movie which actually only got to shown a bit more true colors at the last dialogue and scene of them together enjoying watching the full-moon in a way that only for only people invested on very old-fashioned traditional Japanese lore might understand its meaning, but for everyone else the scene just´ll be something else not neccesarily romantic itself. (Anyways the credits song by Aiko singer, on the true translation of lyrics is pretty more accurate on the nature of their relationship after all!)
Lovely wholesome masculine couple always indeed and a great sample - aside "Luca" though pretty much direct with that meaning than it - on getting a same-gender male love item working in a safe way for everyone, that actually even kinda matched for moderate-rational conservatives which anyways couldn´t find something intrinsecally wrong about them in all besides their own ideas and biases.
