I gave drawing them using colored pencils a shot. Mind you, that was the first time of me using colored pencils "professionally"!

The couple are so amazing and worked so much better than the later animated version that took a safer-way by changing Mei´s gender as female instead of a male. (Though the original manga-story where his gender was actually kept unknown or neutral-ambiguous as very fine on its own, but indeed the worthiest reveal of Mei as male was the most bold striking great version for the story as the safe naive and pure soft-romance between them made a lot of stereotype´s breakup ever!)
Thankfully indeed the Korean anime series isn´t so much liked than either the manga version (where Mei´s gender is ambiguous and free for the readers interpretation as it´s never properly stated, though it seems it´s oftenly switched on between a neutral-gender mostly and a male a bit less and never actually as female there), and of course both even less than the great 2005 movie where is a guy after all.
