A friend of mine was taking weapon commissions, so I decided to get a "canon" blade for Mimmsy.
Per her description:
"A light, nimble sword made for fast cuts and versatile guards, using a blade blank reclaimed from a Vinyotian naval officer's sword and a refitted guard forged in southern Orian styles, the cracking wood of the grip has been repaired with additional tacks holding down the vibrant red Al'ar silk wrapping the handle.
A finely made but largely plain blade, well maintained and repaired by quick-witted Al'ari quartermasters over the years.
Based on 16th century Italian Falchions, 17th century Polish Szabla, and 18th century Cuban and Haitian Machetes."
In regards to the name:
"...if a bard was speaking on it they'd say, 'They arrived... wielding a blade. A blade of hope.' While people in person would be like, 'What is that they're holding?' And someone else would say, 'Hope' "
