Repairing and maintaining the machines of the Empire is one of the usual duties of the Nezumi. Its pretty much a way of life for them and they don't really mind it. Their kind was building machines for mining back on their moon homes and maintaining them optimally. A life of oil, grime, fusion reactors, and Plasm is second to none for the mouse race. The Nekuo might find it as a menial and dirty work, but their shorter fellow martians are happy to take up the work. The Nekuo for that are grateful for the hard working Nezu fixers and engineers and mechanics that keep the industrial pillar of their Empire chugging. As rewards, they give the Nezumi with plenty of cheese and other commodities these squeaky lasses love as compensation for their hard work.
