I honestly empathize with Dr Jackson. I suspect he's got a hellish amount on his plate, and his more playful spirit ends up having to be pushed aside to even function. Much like anyone who works in the service industry, especially in healthcare were very lives are at stake.
Just takes a while for that side to re-emerge, and a small reminder of home helps most of all (provided home carries positive connotations).
