12 AUs of Christmas - Day 10: Christmas Flight in Orion City
(Day 10's here everybody, and here yet we have another AU. This time one involving a superhero known as Mockingbird, and a vigilante antihero known as Chimerror. The days felt like they have gone by fast, but they've also had memorable moments as well. So I can't complain.)

Deep within Orion City, a city of quality for all walks of life with the Winter snow slowly raining down, an orange hybrid known as a Sullicoot, and named Ben was trying to get home as he looked up after hearing something sounding like the sound of flapping wings. As he looked up, he saw a figure before they descended next to him... and revealed themselves as the superhero Mockingbird who offered to help carry the hybrid home. Which he accepted, though he couldn't help but feel like he'd seen him before... somehow.
After Ben accepted the superhero's offer, Mockingbird managed to lift the hybrid onto his back, and get his legs tucked underneath his arms before flapping his wings to take off and fly above the city. It would take some time for them to get to the hybrid's home with the directions that were given, so they decided to make conversation. Naturally Ben was curious about what it's like being a superhero, and how it works here. Luckily Mockingbird was willing to explain the system of it.
A select few out of everyone who lives within the city are granted special powers, which could better society if used for good, so naturally an office within the city was established and dubbed the Orion Office for Powered Superbeings (Known as OOPS, which some people childishly find humour in the name). To qualify as a superhero, you not only need to have a superpower, but also able to follow the rules and guidelines... as well as minimalizing collateral damage however you can. There is also passing an exam that will be closely monitored as well.
After becoming an officially certified superhero, rookies are given their starting rank of F. Though the rank is also given to heroes performing their duties poorly and/or recklessly. On the plus side for rookies, their missions are easy to manage with. After their performance is considered heroic enough, they are eventually promoted to the next rank, and so on until they eventually reach the highest one, S. It is considered the highest honour, where the best of the best tackle exceedingly the hardest missions.
It was the mayor of the city who put the system together, and Ben even heard he despises heroes who perform outside of its system, through vigilantism. And this Commissioner Doe he was told of is the one organising the missions within the system, so every hero within it either often find themselves in her office, or even receiving messages from her.
This was quite a bit to take in, but the Sullicoot was also intrigued by what Mockingbird had explained to him, whilst promising him to keep such information a secret was they continued on the journey home. But before Ben could ask what the superhero's rank was...
The sounds of another pair of bigger wings flapping were heard, as the orange hybrid turned his head to his right, whilst Mockingbird could only move his eyes to see it was the vigilante antihero, Chimerror! Though he was in a sort of cutesy kind of mood, whilst his sentiment snake tail named Vladimir looked at the hybrid.
Sure enough, the chimera turned out to actually find the Sullicoot cute... and asked Mockingbird if it could be possible to keep his passenger. A request that was swiftly shot down. Though Chimerror didn't clarify if he meant as a pet, or a cuddle buddy. One thing that was going to be clear however, was that this would be one eventful flight back home... as soon as Mockingbird can lose the chimera's trail as soon as possible in this weather.
