Where was I? Oh yeah, the tree needed something and then all hell broke loose.
I found a great design that I didn't think I needed to tinker with at all. I just sent it to the printer and went to work. I checked on it a few times during the day thanks to the built in webcam and things looked perfect. Print finished without any issues.
It needed lights and I had a battery powered strand of LED that would be perfect. Just needed glue to hold them in place and we would be laughing. I foolishly chose to use a quick setting, but somewhat liquid-like glue, my first mistake.
It took a while, but I was happy with how the lights looked and the glue was holding well. At this point it was close to 2am and I knew I needed to be up for work by 6, so I said "A couple more drops to just make sure things hold in place." At this point, I likely didn't need more glue, I was just being overly cautious.
The lid on the container decided that was the moment to break and dump glue all over my hands, desk, project, lap and floor. With the speed it sets at, there was no saving the project that had become glued to my desk and a bunch of other things.
I was heart broken. But there was a shining light. I had more filament and could reprint AND I had another strand of the lights that I had meant to use for something else.
2 days later, I remade the tree topper and it turned out great. My coworkers love the tree. The whole branch is happier and customers appreciate the decoration.
Now I need to get back to removing glue from my desk and from the bits on my left foot...
