Man, I hate markers. Even really good ones.
You're always just a step away from destroying an image, so you have to be at nervous attention the whole time. I've read about numerous ways to fix marked images that you've screwed up, and most of them are more trouble than they're worth.
However, I get sick of seeing so much purely digital art that I feel compelled to work toward being better with real media art techniques.
I know it isn't a great picture, and her arms are kindof wonky, but, being that this is based off of, and for, ESIII Morrowind, if you've ever seen the character models for that game you know that this isn't too far from what they looked like.
Anyway, STORY TIEM:
Absynth is just walking (or shambling, as it looks) onto the dock where she will begin her life outside of prison
This is just the first of what will be a series of images associated with the journal-story I'm chronicling HERE. It has been a project I've been hard pressed to find the time to get going, but, here it is. Please give it a read, if you would. It will be updating daily or as regularly as I can manage. More details after the link.
Done in a Mead sketchbook using Copic liners, ten year old Letraset Tria markers (A testament to how good they are), Zig tint brushpens, a red Copic Ciao and probably a few other kinds of markers.
I'm satisfied with the result. I will move on to better things, but this is good for now.
The bleakness is intended fully
