Still haven't illustrated most of the "Chosen" yet- and if you want to learn who those are? You can check that out here on my DA page as I can't remember if I uploaded it to FA or not: https://www.deviantart.com/twistedh.....osen-957030773
Here we simply have two of the Chosen named Burkag and Zahken which are known as "Fluffy Kobolds", as they belong to the "Planimal" family. Meaning their closest relatives are the "Fruit Kobolds" and not the "Scalebolds" of the setting. As they were also created by the Ultrinians sometime ago for soldiers who could live in some of the most frigid of climates. They lack a lot of the regeneration abilities of Fruit Kobolds, but they make up for it in body fat, strength, and elongated periods without needing to eat food or water. By the time Thomza would find these two, it would already be in Cycle 10.5, accidentally stumbling across their village. The Fluffy Kobolds have a more "raider" styled culture where the strong rules over the weak. Spotting Thomza as easy pickings, he would face many of them in glorious combat and fight their strongest warriors. Although seeing the damage he's caused, he decides to stay and try and help their village for the time being. This is of course where he meets both Burkag and Zahken who are both royalty in their culture. Burkag being a lot more serious while Zahken is a lot more laid back.
I'm not going to spoil absolutely everything about this little plot arc, but at the end of the day the two do become members of the Chosen. Thomza right now though in this image is absolutely horrified of how she has her axe tied to her belt. Knowing for a fact that it certainly won't hold, and it could go careening into his foot. Drawing fullbody Thomza can be such a delight, mostly as I get to remind myself of how actually short he is. Don't you worry though, the Thomza reference sheet is coming out tomorrow with an actual explanation of the earliest parts of the setting.
Until next time folks! Thanks for reading!
Disclaimer and Copyright: These characters involved, and the artwork belongs to me, TwistedHensley. The Skin to Scales Universe also belongs to me there, TwistedHensley... You get the drill. I want to point out that this is an Epic Dark Fantasy setting with a lot of mythological and religious tones and that there is no real-life connection to any of these events, religions, characters and it is fully, grounded, in fantasy. There is no copyright infringement also intended to other forms of media as Skin to Scales is meant to be its own thing and something I've been working on for a very long time. This is the same setting where faith is a massive part of the magic system, and it is usually meant to have a very bright and colorful art style to help balance the tone.
Other Disclaimer: You are allowed to share my artwork as long as I am credited, but do not upload it anywhere else, edit it and or mark it as your own if that wasn't common sense.
Fun Fact: The character concepts for these two were helped made by my friend Varik
