Ottri ''I Otter Go For A Swim'' by Lay
This picture I came up with due to me working on a playlist of music on my old iPod. It involves several kids' songs from usually either the Netherlands or Belgium, with some English songs thrown in there since they just happened to be in English. I was searching on the internet and I came across some song about otters, apparently it was written by famous 60's era Dutch poem and song writer, Annie M.G. Schmidt, whose cute and deep songs I've really grown to like over the last couple years. I mostly know her through the short kids' book stories she's written back in her day, but later I decided to give one of her music CD's a try. And although it turns out the songs on there are usually way more complicated and a bit darker in theme at times due to it being mostly aimed at a very specific group of adults -- mainly gentlemen and women from the era I just referred to, the early 60's and perhaps late 50's -- I still enjoy listening to them, even to this day.
The song about otters I mentioned at the beginning, isn't part of this CD, but it CAN be found in one of the song selections that was ~also~ released on a CD much later. What's in the lyrics of said song isn't important enough to mention here, but the thing I do wanna mention is that it inspired me to do a re-draw of my otter OC Ottri. And I think it came out so good! The older picture -- https://www.furaffinity.net/view/51834133/ -- also looks very nice and playful; but I think I'll stick with the design I gave my water-loving buddy in this new illustration. It just looks more realistic, and to be fair, comes way closer to what I ~intended~ Ottri to look like in the older picture with the beach ball, so I'm very satisfied with the evolution of his design.
