An updated version of a classic Christmas recipe I did a while back: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/21879553/
What You'll Need:
-1 Family sized box of Chex. I recommend chocolate, vanilla, or cinnamon.
-1 bag of mini marshmallows. I actually recommend 2 bags for better holding.
-2 cups of peanut M&Ms
-2 cups of broken up chocolate covered pretzels
-2 cups of peanut butter
-2 cups of hazelnut spread
-1/2 stick of butter
-1 cup of butterscotch morsels
-1 cup of colored chocolate melts
-2 bricks of almond bark
Step 1:
In a large saucepan, start by melting the butter on low heat. Once the butter has completely melted, pour in your bag(s) of marshmallows and continue to fold every so often as they fully melt. Make sure to keep the heat on its lowest setting. Slow and steady will keep it from burning or getting hard.
Step 2:
While the mallows are melting you can mix your dry ingredients in a large bowl. Chex, M&Ms, chocolate covered pretzels, and butterscotch morsels.
Step 3:
After the marshmallows have completely melted into a nice fluff, ad the peanut butter and hazelnut spread to the saucepan. Slowly mix together for about 1 minute.
Step 4:
Pour your mallow mixture over your bowl of Chex mix and slowly fold together as to not break the Chex too much. The easiest way to do this, I've found, is to just use your hands. But be careful not to burn yourself. I'd recommend putting on some disposable cooking gloves if you have any.
Step 5:
Once everything is fully mixed and stringy, add the entire mixture to a sprayed down rectangular cake pan. Press the mixture down as flat as you can. Best to do this with a sheet of parchment paper.
Step 6:
In a microwavable measuring cup, add your melts. Microwave for 1 minute, stir, and repeat until all of the melts have melted so you can drizzle it with a spoon over your treats. Repeat this process with the almond bark.
Step 7:
Cover with a sheet of aluminum foil and allow time to rest and set. At least 4 hours. I made the mistake of cutting into them too early and not using enough marshmallows so mine fell apart, but it still worked as a snack cluster. If your batch goes much better, it should fully hold as a delicious snack bar. Enjoy and Merry Christmas!
