But i must warn you, I haven't found a way to make spiral in Sketchup at all. Every test I've done ends horribly and me being extremely frustrated.

I figured that much, but what you're looking at is like a swing style arm? Moves the TFC forwards to fire, and pulls it back when not in use?

To make a spiral, create a circle and stretch it out into a cylinder, then, go to View>Hidden Geometry, go back to your model, and then create lines running from rib to rib, evenly spaced, to create a spiral, it may help to create a short cylinder, draw a line from one of the vertexes to the opposite corner of the opposite vertex on the same plane, then copy/paste while rotating the cylinder a little every time untill you get a spiral, I will pose a video on youtube.
