Atryl is a member of the Bruiser species, and like most. He's not the smartest. He is, however, an oddity of his species as he is much larger and has a plasma canon instead of a disk launcher attached to his shoulder. Both of which are a result of being tinkered on by a Makuta he once was a bodyguard of. When the Matoran Universe evacuated onto Spherus Magna, He decided to wander.

Eventually he wondered into Roodaka's territory, and became a "contestant" in her arena. Here he fought for his freedom, and lost an arm in the process. Enjoying the thrill of the fight, Atryl decided it to be in his best interest to stay. Now, He acts as an obstical for other "contestants", and win or lose. He enjoys every bit of it.
